The WSWA’s Latest Forecast Confirms US Spirits Declines Will Continue Into 2027. Scotch and Whiskey Are Expected to Recover Faster Than Cognac and Rum.

The Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America has published its latest SipSource Forecast, covering quarterly projections for the US spirits industry through the second quarter of 2027. The forecast confirms continued negative growth across core spirits through the forecast period, while projecting a slow and modest easing of declines toward late 2026 and into 2027. Total core spirits posted a rolling 12-month depletion trend of -4.19% in Q1 2026, and are projected to improve to -3.91% by Q4 2026 and -3.68% by Q2 2027.
