The US spirits market declined for the 14th consecutive month in NABCA’s control state data

The National Alcohol Beverage Control Association (NABCA) published its June 2026 control state spirits sales data on 31 July 2026, confirming that US spirits volumes in control states declined again in June, with nine-litre case volume down 2.3% compared to June 2025. A positive selling-days effect in June – more selling days than the prior year – provided a partial uplift, which means the underlying decline on a per-day adjusted basis was steeper than the headline figure. On a rolling 12-month basis through May 2026, control state spirits volumes were down 1% and dollar sales were down 3%, according to NABCA data cited by Shanken News Daily. The rolling period through May was weighed down by five fewer selling days in that month.
