The Receiver Overseeing Uncle Nearest Is Suing the Lender.

The court-appointed receiver overseeing Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey has filed a counterclaim against Farm Credit Mid-America, the lender that initiated the receivership proceedings, alleging negligence, gross negligence, and wilful blindness in its administration of a credit facility that ultimately exceeded $100 million. The filing, made on 7 July 2026 in the case before the US District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, reverses the direction of litigation that had previously focused on allegations against Uncle Nearest and its co-founders Fawn and Keith Weaver.
