The 2026 French Harvest Could Be the Earliest on Record. What That Means for Supply Across All Three Regions.

France’s major wine regions are facing a significant reduction in the 2026 harvest following a record-breaking heatwave in late June and sustained dry conditions through early July. Producers in Champagne, Bordeaux, and Burgundy confirmed the deteriorating outlook to Reuters on 7 July, with Champagne’s wine growers union chairman Maxime Toubart stating that grape yields in the region are expected to come in approximately 10% below 2025 levels.
