Garrard County Distilling has been sold at court-ordered auction for $20 million to Tom Collins Distilling LLC, a subsidiary of Sazerac. According to court proceedings held at the Garrard County Justice Center in Lancaster, Kentucky, Tom Collins Distilling was the only bidder at the auction. The sale price falls below the property’s most recent appraisal value of more than $27.9 million. Court records show Tom Collins Distilling was positioned as the primary creditor going into the auction, having previously acquired the debt originally held by Truist Bank against the distillery.
