Maison Pommery’s talks with Henkell Freixenet have ended without agreement – the company has secured emergency financing through to June 2027

Exclusive merger talks between Maison Pommery & Associés and Henkell International – a subsidiary of Germany’s Henkell Freixenet – have ended without an agreement. The two-month exclusivity period agreed between the parties expired on 31 July 2026 without a deal being reached. A joint statement confirmed the discussions have “come to a preliminary end and did not result in an agreement at this stage,” and that both companies “remain open to the possibility of resuming discussions at a later stage.” Separately, Maison Pommery announced it has secured its liquidity position through a conciliation agreement with its main financial partners, approved by the Reims Commercial Court, providing financing through to June 2027 with the possibility of extension to June 2028.
