Heineken and Duvel Moortgat are both bidding for a Belgian brewery

Heineken and Duvel Moortgat are among more than five bidders who have advanced to a second round of selection in a sale process for Haacht Brewery, the publicly listed Belgian brewer behind brands including Primus, Super 8, Tongerlo, and Flandrien. The process was confirmed by Belgian financial publications De Tijd and L’Echo. The sale began several weeks ago. In addition to Heineken and Duvel Moortgat, the remaining candidates include investment funds and consortia of beer companies and real estate specialists, reflecting the dual nature of Haacht’s asset base – a brewery combined with an extensive portfolio of hospitality real estate across Belgium, the Netherlands, and France.
