BrewDog Was Sold to Tilray for £33 Million Earlier This Year. James Watt Has Submitted a Bid to Buy It Back.

BrewDog founder James Watt has formally submitted a bid to reacquire the BrewDog business from Tilray Brands, the US-listed cannabis and beer group that acquired BrewDog’s UK, Ireland, US, and Australian assets earlier in 2026. Watt confirmed the submission today via LinkedIn: “We have formally submitted our offer to buy BrewDog. The offer was made by Second Best and sent to Tilray Brands.” The bid is structured through Second Best Ltd, a new corporate vehicle Watt established in May 2026 specifically for the purpose. He stated that 43,000 registered Equity for Punks investors have joined the Second Best bid. Tilray Brands has not yet publicly responded to the offer. No financial terms have been disclosed.
