Asahi has filed its delayed FY2025 securities report, and disclosed a material weakness caused by last year’s cyberattack

Asahi Group Holdings published two significant disclosures on 27 July 2026. The first is a “Notice Regarding a Material Weakness in Internal Control over Financial Reporting,” confirming that the company’s auditors have identified a material weakness in its financial controls as a direct consequence of the ransomware attack that struck Asahi’s Japanese operations on 29 September 2025. The second is a “Notice Regarding the Completion of Submission of the Securities Report for the Fiscal Year Ended December 31, 2025,” confirming that Asahi’s FY2025 annual securities report – equivalent to an annual report required by Japanese financial regulators – has now been filed, after a delay of more than six months caused by the attack’s impact on internal systems.
