A year after its territorial disposals began, RNDC has filed for bankruptcy

Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC), formerly the second-largest wine and spirits distributor in the United States, filed voluntary petitions for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on 26 July 2026 in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas. The company confirmed the filing on its website: “RNDC initiated a voluntary chapter 11 process to explore potential sale transactions in court and implement an orderly wind down of our remaining operations.” Case number 26-90737. Financial advisers are Lazard Frères; operational advisers are AlixPartners.
